METROPLEX SENIOR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION-MINUTES March 24, 2026

  1. Tom Athens, President, called the meeting to order at 11:05 a.m.
  2. All attendees recited the Lord’s Prayer
  3. All attendees said the Pledge of Allegiance
  4. Tom Athens led a roll call for teams in attendance. Lonestar Bandits, Mesquite Ol Pros and Mid City Flyers not able to attend. Rosters and fees were sent in.
  5. There was a motion and a second to approve the February 10, 2025 minutes. The motion passed.
  6. Mike McGlothin, Treasurer, gave the Treasurer’s report. Ending Balance from 02/10/2025 was $3,746.75. Deposits were $4,955.54 and Expenses were $3,834.42. After Expenses, the Ending Balance is $4,867.87. There was a motion and a second to approve the report.  The motion passed.
  7. New Business
  • Plans to purchase of Bat Tester for 2026 has been canceled at this time.  If concerns occur in the future the issue will be reviewed. 
  • Teams Game score reporting: It is the responsibility of the home team to report the score of your game on the same day to:

8.  General Announcements

  • Pitching screens have been approved for league play in the following divisions: Senior Men 60+, Senior Men 65+, and Senior Men 70+ (Division 2)
  • Many players have taken advantage of our special pricing on Dudley bats. Since our last meeting Tom has ordered 13 bats. Bats cost $157.30, plus Epic Sports shipping which is $16-$17.
  • If your team has a suggestion or concern, please submit it to your division rep so it can be submitted to teams within your division for their input. Representatives are:  Senior Men 60+ Bruce Ray, Senior Men 65+ Bob Moran, Senior Men 70+ Division 1 Steve Barrette and Senior Men 70+ Division 2 Paul Gordon.

  • Next Meeting TBD.
